Next Stage: Basement Shotcrete & Slab
The first major milestone at Nurlendi is now complete, with basement excavation laying the foundations for everything that follows. While much of this work will ultimately disappear beneath the finished home, it is one of the most technically demanding stages of the entire build.
Over four weeks, the site was excavated to establish the basement footprint. Before any material could be removed, reinforced retention piers and a concrete capping beam were installed to stabilise the surrounding ground and create a safe working environment for the excavation to proceed.

As with many complex residential sites, the conditions demanded constant adaptation. Periods of wet weather and saturated ground slowed progress, sections of rock required mechanical removal, and the site’s steep driveway gradients meant access for excavation equipment had to be carefully planned throughout the process.

It’s a stage that rarely receives attention once construction is complete, yet it defines everything that comes after. The accuracy of the excavation, the quality of the retaining system and the preparation beneath ground level establish the platform on which the entire home will be built. With excavation now complete, the project moves into its next phase as the basement shotcrete walls begins to take shape and the structure starts its journey above ground.
